Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Patientary(the “Service”), including the website, the REST API and the MCP server. By creating an account, generating an API key, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

What the Service is — and isn’t

Patientary lets you look up provider records from the CMS NPPES registry, search and validate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes from the official CMS release, and look up NUCC provider-taxonomy codes — as a website, a REST API and an MCP server for AI agents. Patientary is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the National Uniform Claim Committee (NUCC), or any other government or standards body, and does not provide medical, coding, billing or legal advice. A code’s “billable” status, a provider’s enumeration status, and every other field reflect the underlying public source at the time of the request — see Data & Methodology for exactly how each field is derived. You remain solely responsible for your coding, billing, credentialing and compliance decisions, and should verify any result against the primary source (NPPES, the current CMS ICD-10-CM release, or NUCC) before you bill, file, or rely on it. Patientary does not process, and you agree not to submit, Protected Health Information (PHI) or other patient data through the Service.

Accounts & API keys

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials and API keys confidential. You’re responsible for all activity under your account and your API keys, including calls made by software or AI agents you configure with them. Tell us right away at hello [at] patientary.comif you suspect unauthorized access or a leaked key — we’ll help you rotate it.

Plans, billing & usage limits

Patientary offers the following plans: Free (free), Pro ($29/month), Scale ($99/month). Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; your paid features remain active through the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and no partial-month refunds are issued except where required by law. Each plan carries a published rate limit and monthly call allotment (see Pricing); usage beyond the included allotment on Pro and Scale is billed as metered overage rather than blocked outright, at the per-1,000-call rate published on that page. We may change prices or quotas going forward, with notice before your next renewal.

Acceptable use of the API & MCP server

The API and MCP server are for looking up, searching and validating individual provider and code records as part of your own product, workflow or agent — fair use consistent with your plan’s published rate limit and monthly quota. You agree not to:

• Exceed your plan’s published rate limit or attempt to circumvent it (key rotation, distributed calling, etc.);
• Systematically re-scrape or bulk-export the underlying NPPES, ICD-10-CM or NUCC data sets in order to stand up a competing lookup service or data resale product — build on the reference layer, don’t replicate it;
• Submit PHI, patient data, or any data you don’t have the right to submit, to the Service;
• Attempt to access other users’ accounts, API keys or data, or reverse-engineer non-public parts of the Service; or
• Interfere with the Service’s normal operation, including through excessive automated load outside your plan’s limits.

Free-tier responses carry a required attribution field; you agree to preserve that attribution when displaying free-tier results to end users. Pro and Scale plans remove the attribution requirement. We may suspend or terminate accounts, or revoke API keys, that violate this section.

Your data

You own the search, watch and integration configuration you create in Patientary. We use it only to operate the Service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export or delete your data, and revoke API keys, at any time from your account.

Public-data attribution

Provider records are sourced from the public CMS NPPES registry; diagnosis codes from the official CMS ICD-10-CM release; specialty codes from the NUCC provider taxonomy. None of these bodies endorse, sponsor or approve Patientary or its results. Record availability and accuracy depend on the underlying public data, which reflects the source at the time of your request.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, and without any guarantee that a lookup result is complete, current, or suitable for a specific billing, coding, credentialing or compliance purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Patientary and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including a rejected or denied claim, a coding or billing error, or a decision made by you or an agent you configure, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access, or revoke API keys, for violation of these Terms or for non-payment on a paid plan, with reasonable notice where practical.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If we make a material change, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email before it takes effect.
